For
many years our product was made using traditional methods of transferring
a photographic image to a special substrate and then to the ceramic.
This
left very little opportunity to remove scratches, creases and other blemishes
from the original photo before it is used to produce the photo ceramic plaque.
Vitae Memoriam help to take this into the digital age by using computers
and digital scanners to copy the photo, then by using the state of the art
graphics software technicians remove scratches and other imperfections.
We
then remove unwanted items people or animals from the picture before cutting
away the background to replace it with one of the many soothing and sensitive
backgrounds that will ensure the person, animal
or object remains the central focus for the photoceramic plaque.
This image is digitally printed using specially developed
inks onto a unique substrate which is applied to the ceramic plate. It
is then heated to a white hot 900 degrees centigrade. The inks become embedded
into the ceramic at this temperature which is why they do not scratch, fade
or crack with time or extremes of weather.
