Malta
has 95% of memorials with some kind of ceramic picture plaque. In Malta there
is no need to begin manufacturing as the population does not necessitate
this and for a rather interesting reason. Because we are now working in the
digital world it is only necessary to have an office to bring or send the
photo. The photo is then scanned ‘while you wait’ which removed
the most worrying problem of twice posting what is usually a very precious
picture overseas. The image is emailed the same day in the unedited form
to either UK or Belgium for processing.
Vitae Memoriam UK has a very different challenge, as although
it is growing, the number of stones produced which have a picture plaque
are nearer to 5%. Why is this? Research suggests that there has been little
marketing in this field and those who do use the service are mostly still
having to post these precious photos to Italy and wait for what could be
unsatisfactory results.
Vitae Memoriam UK is working together with Vitae Memoriam Belgium to get production
up and running much quicker than would otherwise be possible.
